Theta Design Weekend

It’s one of my favorite weekends of the year: Theta Design Weekend! Formerly known as Theta Charity Antiques Show, this weekend brings together some of the best antique and art dealers, and new this year, a variety of textile and fabric vendors, landscape design, jewelry and fashion designers. And all for deserving Texas Charities! Since its inception, the show has raised over $7 million dollars and you can see the list of the 2017 beneficiaries here

There are so many things to see and do at this event from shopping to speakers to design panels, it’s a great way to meet and get inspired by talented designers in the industry. Starting with the preview party Thursday night and running through the Young Designers Panel Sunday afternoon, I’d love to say hello to you this weekend! My husband Clint and I will be at the Preview Party Thursday, so pick up your tickets here! It will be a fun evening with food and drinks along the way and one you won’t want to miss. I’m also excited to see Mark D. Sikes speak at the luncheon on Friday.

I will also be on the Young Designers Panel on Sunday from 1:30-2:45PM along with my local design buddies, Paloma Contreras, Ben Johnston, and Hallie Henley Sims, and moderated by my design mentor and fellow Theta Alum, Sarah Ellers. This panel is complimentary with purchase of a general admission ticket, here. And use code HEROD20 for 20% off the price of your general admission ticket!

The list of exhibitors is always top notch and I love shopping the goodies they bring for my clients homes. I frequent many of these local dealers and have used many of their pieces in my designs.

Brown always has fantastic and unique light fixtures with beautiful history and design. These sconces accent this wall in this dining room with beautiful curves and detail. Jill Brown’s story of how she got into the antiques business is authentic and her pieces are timeless.

Carol Piper Rugs will be in attendance, and wow, her selection is stunning. Rugs can truly bring a room together and this one helped bring a cohesiveness and softness to this wine room. Carol and Ryan have created a unique and curated collection of rugs from around the world. This table is from Carl Moore Antiques who will also be at the exhibition. Their antiques range from vintage and traditional to art deco and modern and this table was the perfect centerpiece in the room. I love this special piece and the traditional touch it brings to this space.
